11/8-11/12

Dear Blue Oaks Families,
November will be over before we know it! Don't forget we don't have school on Thursday, November 11th and parent-teacher conferences start on November 15th and will be held the entire week. If you need to sign-up, please check with your student's teacher. That week will also be minimum days and I have attached the bell schedule here and also at the end of the blog. For the month of November, we will be having a canned food drive. Be on the look out for information to come home with your student. Thank you for your continued support throughout these tough times. If you have any questions, please let me know.

_Mrs. Cumbra

Watch D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students) will be back at Blue Oaks! Be on the look out for the great opportunity for dads to come and volunteer.  It will look a little different as our volunteer times will be held during lunch and recess times from 11:30-1:30 but this give you a chance to hang out with your student(s) during their lunches and you get to play with them and their friends.  If this is something your would like to participate in, make sure to sign up when it is time.

PTC

Please show your support and join our PTC.  Our Parent Teacher Club is an outstanding group that organizes many events at Blue Oaks.  The school wouldn't be what it is without this team! For more information, click on the link.   Please read about our upcoming events below

  • Thank you to everyone who volunteered at Bear Jamboree last week! There’s no way the PTC can pull off such a fun event without you. A special thank you to the Jamboree committee (Brie Hull, Heather Miller, Jaime Currier, Christin Kearns, Toni Ogden, and Brian Campbell) who pulled the event together in such a short amount of time.
  • The Fall Book Fair was a huge success thanks to our lovely Book Fair committee (Pamela Snow-Prince and Desi Prudhomme) and our fantastic volunteers! Our families helped raise $1,900 for our school’s Library.
  • If you have pictures of your family from Bear Jamboree and would like to submit them for the yearbook, upload them at http://www.blueoaksptc.com/yearbook/
  • Our next PTC meeting has been rescheduled to take place on 11/16 from 6:30pm-7:30pm via Zoom

  • WALK TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY!

*Next Walk to School: Nov. 17th*

If you live too far to walk, we encourage you to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk in from there. Two student council representatives will be manning each gate to pass out stickers to those students who participated in Walk to School Wednesday. We look forward to seeing our Bears put on their walking shoes and help to create a cleaner environment.

Ms. Estep! So much fun in music class. I know the students love going to music and learning with hands on instruments. We are so thankful to have such a passionate music teacher on staff that truly loves our students.

Blue Oaks 5th Grade Bucket Band

    Notice for parents:
The Bucket band will be postponing their concert from December to January. Due to an unforeseen amount of absences, the Bucket Band students would like more time to prepare before performing in front of a live audience. Therefore, they voted to have the concert in January instead of December. Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you then.
