Thank you so much for your support of our school music program! Our kids will be so excited to learn that they will have the chance to play recorders this year. 10/25-10/29

Dear Blue Oaks Bears,

Is it the end of October?! Where has the time gone?

We have a fun-filled week ahead! Please take a moment to read all the fun events happening! Thank you for all those that walked to school on Wednesday and remember to mark your calendars on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. As a reminder, Nov, 1st is a teacher work day and we will miss all our little bears but we will see them on Tuesday.

Did you know that we have a new position at Blue Oaks called Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) and we are so lucky to have Mindy Corr fill that role here at our school. As you know she has taught 4th and 5th grade here for the last 8 years, but has taken on this new role for the next three years.  In this role, she will be supporting students across all grade levels and helping teachers to implement new programs for not only academics, but behavior and social emotional learning as well.  Additionally, she is running after school math intervention on Tuesdays and Thursdays - which is currently running for selected 2nd and 4th graders.  We are also lucky to have Ms. Jennifer Chance as Mrs. Corr's instructional aide.  She helps Mrs. Corr with intervention and small groups.  We are very lucky to have both of them support our bears!

Vaccine Verification REQUIRED for Volunteers:

  • If you are vaccinated, please bring in your vaccine card and show it to our secretaries.  They DO NOT need a copy or make a copy.  They simply need to see it.  This only needs to be done one time.  We will mark you cleared in our system and you are not required to show this again.

  • If you are NOT vaccinated and you would like to continue to volunteer as a Category I or Category II volunteer, you MUST show proof of a negative COVID test within 6 days of being on campus.  Our school secretaries will ask for proof of this requirement upon you signing in.

GATE Identification Gifted and Talented Education

(GATE) identification testing for the 2021-2022 school year will be taking place in January 2022. The GATE identification test will be available for students currently in 3rd – 7th grade. If you are interested in having your student take the OLSAT for GATE identification, please complete this GATE Parent Permission Form no later than October 29, 2021.
