Dear Blue Oaks Bear Families, 

It is hard to believe we are entering into our third week of school. I am so grateful to see all our students' faces as they come to school each day ready to learn and have fun! As we continue through the month of August, please remind your student to always be safe, respectful and responsible.  Our teachers will be reviewing our Bear Necessities and how to follow them throughout our campus.   We had our first Bear Hug store on Friday and it was a blast! the students are very respectful as they celebrate their peers that got picked to go to the bear hug store.  They love choosing the items.

Safety Updates:

Masks: Thank you for all of your support with mask-wearing. Students and teachers are expected to wear masks while indoors in the classroom. We have extras and will provide one if a child doesn't have one. At this time, students do not need to wear them while outside. 

Hand washing and Sanitizing: Students are strongly encouraged to wash hands throughout the day and if they are unable to wash, they can use hand sanitizer.

Visitors on Campus: Please check in at the office. Volunteers are welcome. We will be scheduling a fingerprinting event soon.

AQI: As a district, we are constantly watching our local AQI and will call an indoor recess when our area is in the red.

PTC

Please show your support and join our PTC.  Our Parent Teacher Club is an outstanding group that organizes many events at Blue Oaks.  The school wouldn't be what it is without this team! For more information, click on the link.  They have many events and some are happening very soon! Please read below on some of the events:

• The PTC is in need of a new CPA to file our taxes. We wanted to reach out to our families first to see if any parents are CPAs and if so, if they would be willing to file taxes for our non-profit organization for free or at a discount. They can email treasurer@blueoaksptc.com if interested.

• DINNER FUNDRAISER: We would like to invite you to our first Dinner Out event of 2021! Join us for a fundraiser to support the Blue Oaks Elementary PTC. Come visit the new Chipotle at 4200 Thrive Drive in Roseville on Saturday, August 28th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in the flyer attached to this email or follow the link below, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the event will be donated to the Blue Oaks Elementary PTC. 

• DANCE- A- THON: Blue Oaks Parents, our PTC is excited to once again be partnering with Boosterthon to help take our fundraising efforts to the next level! We will be kicking off our fundraising campaign August 23rd and will be ending with a Dance-A-Thon Friday, September 3rd. Pick Up/Drop Off

Traffic in and around Blue Oaks School presents the number one

safety hazard to children and adults!  

We request your cooperation. 

• The WEST PARKING LOT - in front of the Kindergarten wing -  is designated for drop-off and pick-up of transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, first and second grade students by private vehicle, only. Watch for children! Children may not go into parking lots unless they are with an adult. All students entering the west side parking lot must use the crosswalk on Halesworth. 

• The DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AREA in front of the Multi-Use Room is for school buses and daycare agencies only. Please do not drop off or pick up students on Horncastle Ave. There is no supervision.

• The EAST PARKING LOT – in front of the Adventure Club and the upper grades playground is designated for drop-off and pick-up of third, fourth and fifth grade students by private vehicle, only.  There is no crosswalk in this parking lot.  Children may not cross or enter the parking lot unless accompanied by an adult. DO NOT stop or park your vehicle except in a designated parking spot.  Remain in your car when at the yellow curb.

• BUS LOOP- please do not use the bus loop as an area to pick up your child. It is intended for our busses and not other vehicles.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED IN THE DROP-OFF/PICK-UP ZONES. 

If you wish to park your car, kindly pull into a designated parking space.

Thank you for respecting the privacy and property rights of residents on streets adjacent to school.

We request that you walk your child/children to school whenever possible to cut down on traffic and pollution, promote healthy life habits and enhance the safety of all.

Bear Hug STORE!!!

We had our first bear hug store on Friday. The kids enjoyed the fun event. This will happen on the last Friday every month in the Bear's Lair.

Bear Hug Drawing happen on Fridays too! It is such a great way to celebrate and reward our students for following our bear necessities expectations:
